Zinc and copper are considered essential trace minerals. Vitasunn’s Zinc is formulated with copper because zinc may interfere with copper absorption.Do not take Zinc without Copper!

The zinc used in Vitasunn’s Zinc Chelate comes from zinc arginate, zinc histidinate and zinc glycinate. The copper used comes from copper lysinate and copper glycinate.

Zinc performs over 300 enzymatic functions in the body. Zinc is primarily stored in the muscles, bones and skin, with high concentrations in the retina of the eye, liver, kidneys, pancreas, bones, and the prostate gland in men.

Zinc plays a role in virtually all biochemical pathways and physiological processes. Every cell in the body needs zinc; hundreds of body processes rely upon it. Zinc is needed for normal growth and development. It has been shown to help regulate a wide variety of immune system processes. Studies indicate that zinc may even help to control blood sugar levels. 

Additional studies show that zinc may be an important component of skin health. 

Elderly people and vegetarians have a greater risk of deficiency.
One of the first signs of zinc deficiency is a loss of taste and smell.

The body does not manufacture zinc, so it is necessary to obtain it from external dietary sources.

The RDA for Zinc is 15 mgs per day. 

Large amounts of zinc may impair copper absorption.

Zinc should be taken at least 2 hours after taking antibiotics such as tetracycline, doxycycline and minocycline; Studies indicate that it may increase the absorption of these antibiotics.

Copper is the third most abundant trace mineral in the body. It is an essential component of many enzymes and at least 15 proteins and helps the body function normally. Copper is involved in the production of collagen and elastin, and as such is essential to the structural integrity and elasticity of tissues, bones and organs. It is necessary for maintaining healthy nerves and joints. In addition, copper is necessary for the production of hemoglobin, which transports oxygen throughout the body.

Copper also aids in the production of energy by helping the body make adenosine triphosphate and is essential to the production of the enzyme superoxide dismutase, which is a powerful antioxidant. Another enzyme that copper is important component of is dopamine betahydroxylase, an enzyme that helps regulate the metabolism of vitamin C and the synthesis of the neurotransmitter norepinephrine.

Copper can be obtained from a wide variety of foods; however, the typical Weatern diet is low in copper. The best dietary sources; oysters and liver, are not eaten frequently, so it is necessary for most people to obtain their copper from dietary supplements.

Zinc  15mg (as 50% zinc arginate, 25% zinc histidinate & 25% Zinc glycinate)
Copper 2mg (as 50% copper lysinate, & 50% copper glycinate) 

Other ingredients:
Rice powder, magnesium stearate, & cellulose. 

Does NOT contain:
Wheat, gluten, corn, yeast, fish, egg, dairy or lactose, artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Directions: Take 1 capsule, one to two times daily with meals.
